Christmas dinner? Christmas dinner.
Day 5. The horror...
It’s Sunday. I haven’t run since Tuesday. I have at least 7 more days to go.
I’m getting stabby.

Salt Pork in the pot, Hatch green chile defrosting, and Roy Orbison on the musictrola.
Yeah.

dennymayo:
After last week’s lame stomach bug, I’m back onto the training plan this week. Ran a pretty quick 3 miles last night - much quicker than I’d planned, as I knew I’d have intervals this morning. But, I felt quite good and averaged 7:24 for my three yesterday.
Got up at 5:45 this morning, got out…
Question asked of me often: “Why the Hell do you run so much?”

The Beatles on iTunes. It ain't about us.
OK, I get it. You’ve had every Beatles CD since they came out in 1990 and they were the first songs you transferred to your first iPod the day you bought one. Me too. Great, good on us. We’ve got great musical taste.
This ain’t about us.
You know who this benefits?
My 12 year old cousin. Who has never owned a CD, and since his parents’ musical ideal is Jimmy Buffett...
I think today should be "stab a sacred cow day."

And you should all write a post telling me why you don’t like a book/album/movie/person/whatever that everyone else seems to think is the greatest thing ever.
THE BEATLES.
FUCK THE BEATLES.
YOU TAKE THAT BACK RIGHT NOW CLARE
There will be bad decisions
I just realized that I have a 50K in 18 days. I should be tapering, but I since my long runs have been crap the last month, I feel horribly undertrained. So I have to decide if I should try another 20+ run early next week, which would give me about a 1 1/12 week taper.
Whatever I do, will no doubt be wrong.
For Remembrance Day
In Flanders Fields the poppies blow Between the crosses row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to...

Born to Plod: Running Summary Week of 10/31
(ongoing experiment to try to keep motivated, and better notes on my runs. Ignore me if it’s annoying)
This was a “cycle-down” week, so the mileage was reduced. But wanted to work on pace and stride rate.
Sunday: Rest Candy Carb loading
Monday: 7.00 miles in 0:59:24 Shamed myself into some speedwork intervals. Not sure why, because the primary reason I run distance is to...

These are tights I use. they all but cured my IT Band issues.
In reply to Jon:
I don’t mind running in tights or compression shorts in the cold, mostly because my IT band acts up pretty easily when it’s raw.
I’ve got some CW-X tights that are made to support the quads. which is good for me because I’m got such big thighs that they bounce around a lot and get sore. They’re ventilated, which is nice. I’ll wear them if it’s colder than...
It was 28 when I got up to run. Granted I enjoy the cold, but my legs would like some time to acclimate.
